Kate Braithwaite has worked as the Director of Carnegie UK Trust Rural Programme for five years. Working across the UK and Ireland, Carnegie champions asset based approaches to rural development and has supported the CLT National Demonstration since its inception Previously a Chief executive of a Rural Community Council, Kate has pioneered rural women's networks and social enterprises, and has managed LEADER and other EU funded programmes Kate worked for her PhD at Newcastle University'sCentre for Rural Economy. She was awarded a MBE in Millennium Honours for services to rural communities
